These points can then be redeemed later in life when they themselves need help. It is assumed that participants are all mentally able. This is inspired by successful models like Switzerland&#8217;s Zeitvorsorge, Japan&#8217;s Fureai Kippu, and South Korea&#8217;s municipal timebank systems.<\/p>\r\n<p>Within a <strong>school context<\/strong> this means that pupils can ask for help from other (older) pupils within a user-specified subject. In the app, each school has a designated &#8216;teacher administrator&#8217; whose responsibilities is to ensure only pupils of the school can join and are older than an agreed age.<\/p>\r\n<p>Within a <strong>non-school context<\/strong> there is no such administrator.<\/p>\r\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<div class=\"wp-block-stackable-image alignright stk-block-image stk-block stk-f718d03\" data-block-id=\"f718d03\"><style>.stk-f718d03 .stk-img-wrapper{width:48% !important}<\/style>\r\n<figure class=\"stk-img-wrapper stk-image--shape-stretch\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"stk-img wp-image-258\" src=\"https:\/\/carebank.no\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/01\/learningBySharing5.jpg\" width=\"492\" height=\"259\" \/><\/figure>\r\n<\/div>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p>Only after the &#8216;requester&#8217; accepts an &#8216;offer&#8217; will the email of the offeror be shown to the requester in order to arrange a place and time to meet. The agreed work is then completed. In a school context, after the pupils\/people have met, the requester writes a summary of what was accomplished during the session. Before points are exchanged between the requester and the person who offers help, the &#8216;teacher administrator&#8217; will see a summary of the transaction and either &#8216;accept&#8217; or &#8216;deny&#8217; the transaction. Timebanking formalizes community-based volunteering by tracking service transactions amongst local community members in terms of the time taken to perform the services. Members can &#8216;earn&#8217; time (or &#8216;points&#8217;) by providing a service and &#8216;spend&#8217; it by receiving a service.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p>Unlike conventional monetary systems, points created from any type of work has equal value. At its core, timebanking encourages people to use their own unique and valuable skills to help others, which helps timebank members develop a sense of belief in own capacity and achievement, trust, collaboration, and collective efforts, regardless of their professional or income level.
